Get to Know Natashia

In her young adult years, Natashia might have been described as driven. She joined the military after high school and later obtained a Ph.D. as a Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT). She was married and worked for 16 years before deciding to become a mom. After having two beautiful girls, Natashia became concerned with living as long and healthy of a life as possible. This developed into a passion for health and fitness. For many years she poured her passion into distance running, bootcamp training, and crossfit, along with the occasional yoga class. She obtained a group fitness certification along the way. However, a season of change was on the horizon. 


Over-training eventually wore Natashia's body down, resulting in illness and injury. Paired with several losses, including the death of her mom, Natashia was lead to reflect more deeply on her life. She came to the realization that she had fallen hard into the trap of hustling for worthiness. She also noticed that her "mind over matter" mentality had resulted in a habit of completely tuning-out her body. It was time for a change, and it was in this chapter of life that Natashia personally experienced the transformative power of yoga. As a Marriage & Family Therapist, Natashia became captivated by yoga's capacity to spring-board change and growth in a way that talk-therapy alone could never accomplish. Witnessing first-hand the moving meditation and cathartic physical expressions of yoga, Natashia fell in love and decided that her path wouldn’t be complete without obtaining her certification as a yoga instructor. Soon after her initial RYT200 certification, she sought additional certification as a Buti Yoga Instructor. Natashia is so thankful for every step along her yoga journey, and feels tremendously honored to have the opportunity to share the healing, therapeutic, and life-changing power of yoga with others.

  • What Tribe Members Can Expect to Experience in Natashia's Classes

    Yogis can expect an athletic experience in Natashia's classes. Her fitness background has taught her that there is great transformative power when we push ourselves to, but not beyond, our personal edge. Natashia also strives to infuse her classes with elements from her experience as a therapist, planting seeds for growth and transformation. She hopes that yogis will walk away having experienced a kick-ass class, along with an emotional release and psychological shift of perspective. Natashia's mission in her classes is to connect you back to your heart and to the magic of your breath. She will also emphasize the importance of tuning into your emotions as a divine source of information. She strives to remind you over and over again of your inherent worth and escort you back home to yourself.
